Lights set the mood

Lights are an important part to any event. More often than not most clients that come to us aren’t concerned about lighting and with good reason; the lighting already comes along with the venue. Right? Not so much. Lighting allows you to create a serene space and a mood that will be memorable to you and your guests. Having the right lights can really make or break a space. Most events know to have some sort of mood setting lighting they need tea lights. While that is a great start there is much more that should be done to complete the transition. Another great lighting idea is pinspotting. Pinspotting is most commonly seen being focused on centerpieces or to highlight food and florals. My favorite lighting for all types of events is up lighting. Up lighting is versatile enough you can select colors to further set the mood and pick spacing. Here are some examples to think about when getting ready for your next event.

SXSW 2011 Offically Ends

Well, this year’s SX was an utter blast. It always amazes me to see how many talented folks there are out and about. Moreover, the local talent that Austin has to offer. With all of the events/shows going on it’s hard to determine just which ones are the best to take in. At times I even saw people getting overwhelmed and flustered from trying to fit in all the shows. I’m pretty sure you pick a couple of your favorites and just go with the flow on everything else and pretty much, you’re set. As for our group with an all day show every day it was difficult to take in anything else. But we managed to find new talent and new clients that were amazing to work with-even under high pressure situations! I have a feeling that SX will continue to grow and produce more talent, more revenue, and more fun that Austin is ready for. But all I can say to that is bring it on the fun times!

SXSW 2011 is upon us

Well it’s the moment everyone in Austin has been waiting for and it’s nearly upon us. It all starts this Friday 3/11/2011. If you are new to Austin you will defiantly want to check out the reason that makes Austin truly what it is and the reason why Austin is often considered one of the largest music cities in the world. I’m talking about South by Southwest (SXSW). Consisting of interactive, media and music shows, the festival brings over an estimated 100 Million dollars annually to the Austin economy making it the highest revenue maker in the special event category. More than 12,000 registrants show up in anticipation of hearing their favorite bands, checking out the newest social media crazes and scoping out all the film talent has to offer. Austintageous will be working all of these wonderful events getting to take in firsthand the madness that comes with this festival. You wouldn’t be normal if you didn’t enjoy but then again I guess that’s why people like to keep Austin Weird! Enjoy and more to come soon from live in the mist of downtown Austin.
